Omg! Feels like you’re on top of the world! This is an amazing place. We tried 3 times to go up in 2023 and this was always closed due to wildfires. Currently they are losing 430 cars to go up and at 9:40 we were car 190. It was so worth it! Loved the trail walk, the view is breathtaking!

Nice place to visit. Weather is cool most of the time. Not much shade on the trail so it could hot if sunny. The day we visited, it was cold so a light jacket would be good. Lots of benches to sit and take breaks along the way.

Bring insect repellant ! There were yellowjackets everywhere from at the parking lot where the visitor center used to be to all the way at the top of the hike. No bathroom at the trailhead of this hike but portapotties are spaced out in the area. Hike is easy and relatively flat . A lot of view points along the way. There are benches too. Saw some bikers along the way . Due to it's popularity, you won't really have the trail to yourself and parking can be difficult to secure. I saw some people walking more than half of a mile to a mile away from the trailhead as they had to park random spots or other small lots. The overflow lot had no space. Be prepared to walk or spend 20 minutes circling or come here before 730am if on a weekend.

Beautiful place to visit. We drove from Olympia and it took us about 2 hours to get to the top of the mountain. There is a small hike as well if you would like to go in further. The weather was cold most of the time since it’s at 5000 feet above sea level and definitely recommend winter clothing. Must see place in Olympic National park.

Incredible views. Thought we could use our discovery pass.. Found out we couldn't. With as high up as it is feel like they needed more barriers. I like that the trails were marked so we knew we wye going the right way. There were many signs of no parking but there was plenty. So I didn't understand that and got there around noon. The rangers we spoke to didn't seem very friendly. I'm sure there's quite a few first timers up there, so you'd think they'd be not open on giving information. Seen nothing on what time the trail closes.

Ok, there is now limited parking of 275 cars or so due to unfortunate fire that burned down a main cottage. We arrived at the top at 715AM, and it was no problem to find parking, I think even around 9AM, it's still fine. Don't forget to drive to the end of the road passing the burned cottage. There are two more parking areas above it. From there, you take hiking trip to the top of the hill, the views are awesome!!

What an awesome spot to take in some of the most beautiful views of the Olympic Mountains. Easy to spot deers and other wild animals, as well as protected wild flowers. We love going snowshoeing in winter and having a picnic in summer!

One of the most beautiful places you can go to. Go early because they limit amount of people that can visit. We arrived there around 8:00am and had no problem getting in. The views were spectacular! The trails were so beautiful we couldn’t get enough of the scenery. We went on a gloomy day and it was totally worth it. Definitely coming back here when the weather is clear
